We had two wonderful nights of entertainment this week as we hosted our 2 Winter Shows for the Junior and Senior ends of the school. Our theme for both nights was the Eras of 4 decades; the 1960s, 70s, 80s and the 90s. Of course, music played a central role on both nights with the Beatles, ABBA, the Jackson 5, Spice Girls, Queen and Fleetwood Mac just a few of the many acts on show. In addition to music, we also had re-enactments and dramas, recounts of key world events and even a quiz show and battle of the bands. Our Infants took us back to the moon with their Apollo rocket and our expert presenters from Coisceim classes introduced the various decades on each evening with musical interludes drawing smiles, knee-tapping, head-swaying and hand-clapping from around the packed hall. Our finale performance of ‘Lean on Me’ on the second night was a huge success and demonstrated the fantastic musical talent developing in our school, lead particularly by teachers Liz and Sinead. We congratulate all students on their wonderful performances across the two nights and thank all staff involved for the weeks of hard work and preparation that went into this week’s shows. As Principal Pauline mentioned, we are very grateful to all the sponsors of our Winter Raffle fundraiser, the winners of which were announced on the night. Well done to all winners! And finally, we thank all parents and families for attending this week’s shows and contributing so generously to our fundraising efforts this month. Links to recordings of each show are being shared on Aladdin and we ask that these links not be shared further beyond the school community.
Enjoy the school break everyone and see you all again on the 6th January.
