The recently appointed Minister for Education and Skills, Jan O’Sullivan T.D. will pay a brief visit to our school this week! The visit on Thursday is part of a wider schedule the Minister has planned in the northeast on the day and she will meet with our friends in Ballymakenny College before coming to meet with some of us in Aston Village ETNS.
Ballymakenny College is the first Educate Together & VEC co-run post-primary school to have opened in Ireland and the Minister is obviously keen to see the school in operation. The Minister will also see first-hand how our community at Aston VIllage ETNS have successfully accomodated our post-primary neighbours in our campus, an arrangement which has brought mutual benefits to all parties. We very much look forward welcoming Minister O’Sullivan and we will post more news of the visit later this week.
