Dear Parents,
at this time of year we would normally commence our annual food drive appeal for St Vincent de Paul and there is always an incredible response from the parent community with donations of food items to make up hampers for families in need. Last year we filled two small vans with the many items that were collected!
There are many families in our local and school communities who are struggling at this time of year, and many more will feel the effects this year in particular.
Unfortunately, due to Covd-19 restrictions we are unable to run the food drive this year but instead we are asking our families to make a small donation, if they can, which will allow the staff at SVP to continue their campaign.
Donations are completely voluntary and have been requested via Aladdin. The suggested donation is €5 per family but you can change that amount and donate whatever amount you can afford. The collection link will be available on your Aladdin Connect app until November 30th, on which date we will transfer any funds raised to SVP in time for them to purchase and prepare the food hampers. We will send you two text reminders about the appeal – one after mid term break, and one a week before the campaign closes.
As always we are sure the Aston Village parent community will be more than generous in your response and we thank you on behalf of our friends in SVP for your support, especially in this difficult year that we have had.
