It has been a week of sporting talent highlights for us at school. On Tuesday our senior class girls football team ventured off to the north of the county to take part in the Louth schools soccer competition. We will find out more about their brilliant performances next week when they complete their match reports. We wish our boys team and teacher Des all the very best ahead of their competition tomorrow, Thursday. We also have a budding boxing champion in our midst! Rachel from 3rd class was awarded the honour of ‘Best Female Boxer’ in her category recently and she brought in her lovely trophy to share with us. Katie Taylor had better watch out! What a great achievement so well done Rachel! In Mark’s class there was another budding sport star. Darragh showed off his potential at tennis this week and our tennis coach, Gus was very impressed with him and all the children taking part. Finally on the sporting theme, we would like to applaud our 5th and 6th class swimmers who are nearing the end of their 8 weeks of swimming lessons at Aura Drogheda. “Well Done” everyone!
