PTA AGM WEDNESDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER 2019 (9am-10am)
The PTA are holding their AGM/coffee morning on Wednesday 25th September in the kitchen (rescheduled from Thursday 19th September) and all parents are invited to come along. We especially welcome new parents to the school community.
The PTA organise a number of key events during the school year including:
- Fancy Dress Disco (October)
- Winter show/raffle (December)
- Valentine’s Disco (February)
- Hat Parade and Bake Sale (April )
- Summer Camp (July)
- Fundraising events
Parents are always needed to volunteer at these events to ensure that they run smoothly and safely for everyone
Being a part of the PTA doesn’t mean having to attend meetings. There are lots of other ways that you can help:
- Planning an event: eg setting up or cleaning up after a disco or show (30 mins of your time)
- Shopping for an event: eg purchasing water, or decorations for a disco (1 hour of your time)
- Volunteering to help with the reading programme in school (approximately 1 hour a week)
- Helping to maintain the school garden and polytunnel eg painting or weeding (1-2 hours of your time)
- Perhaps you have a craft or a skill or an experience that you can share with the children or other parents (previous examples include knitting/crochet classes, visits from guide dogs, presentations on autism awareness, language lessons, positive parenting workshops, helping with the choir/trad group, sharing IT skills, etc)
Helping out on the PTA can be a very rewarding experience and your contributions are valued by the school community. If you are interested in learning more please come along on Wednesday morning or if you cannot attend please complete and return the short volunteer form below.
