We had a wonderful day to mark the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising today. In line with all other schools across Ireland, we read out our proclamation for 2016 and raised the Irish tricolour to mark an historic day. We had a great sense of history about the school as classes learned about the events, people and significance of the 1916 Rising in the weeks leading up to today. Whilst the flag was being raised, Keifer eloquently played the trumpet and Lota proudly read out the proclamation that was composed by fifth and sixth classes.
