For the next two weeks we are asking all households to send in clean plastic waste. The items should be rinsed clean beforehand. We are working with the organisers of the SeaFoodRocks Festival in Clogherhead (this July) to help collect waste plastics to highlight the amount of plastic we throw away, ending up in our environment. The organisers will be creating a large scale, marine/nautical themed artwork using the plastics and it will be on display during the festival. The children in all classes will also be creating their own smaller art pieces on this theme to be entered into a school-wide competition, and also put on display during the festival. There will be festival family pass prizes on offer during the competition.
