We had the pleasure of welcoming Aidan Gray from An Taisce this morning as he delivered his workshop on marine plastics pollution in our waterways. The children learned abou the many wonderful beaches we have in Ireland and the process involved in awarding them with clean beach status or the blue flag. They also learned about the true purity of water and the many forms of water pollution created by humans. At the end, the children got to vote for their favourite artist who has turned marine plastics into works of art. In the coming weeks we will get the opportunity to collect plastics in our community to contribute towards a similar work of art to be installed in Termonfeckin.
