Our Green Schools Committee were very busy last week  raising awareness of marine environment plastics pollution in our school and the community. There have been a number of events, visitors, workshops and activities throughout the week aimed at highlighting the increasing problem of plastics pollution and the harmful effects on our water resources and life in the marine environment. Increasingly, the media are reporting on the shameful amount of plastics that are polluting our environments and will continue to do so for hundreds of years. We wanted to highlight this issue and cause members of the school and local community to think about their use of plastics, especially those plastics that we readily dispose of and don’t recycle.
