National Costume Day / Go Green for ET Day!

St. Patrick's Day 2014On Friday 14th March we will be holding a Fundraising Day for the patron of our school, Educate Together. All other Educate Together schools in Ireland have had fundraising events this year and we have decided to run ours in conjunction with Saint Patrick’s Day festivities.

Educate Together is a charity organisation and less than 10% of the funding needed to open and support their schools comes from the government. Therefore, they rely on charitable donations, volunteers and funds raised from events to help keep them going and growing.

Friday will be a National Costume Day or Go Green for ET Day with all the children in school being encouraged to dress up in a way that reflects their country of origin. There will be a whole school assembly on Friday morning with performances from all classes. Parents/Guardians are asked to support the fundraising event by sending in some coins which will be collected and counted. The suggested amount per family is €5 but all loose change shall be gratefully accepted.

The money raised will be used to support ET schools to provide a truly child centred education, open more schools throughout Ireland and develop an ET second level education system.
