Ficheall 2024
(Ficheall is the Irish word for chess.)

Last week saw 16 pupils from Aston Village ETNS attend their first chess tournament together with over 200 children from 6 other schools in St. Patrick’s/St. Brigid’s National School. The school’s Principal, teachers and staff made us all so welcome. It was a long day with 6 games of chess each demanding a lot of concentration. It was also great fun and a fantastic chance to meet old and new friends. Well done to all the students and a big thank you to teachers Gearóid and John for their work in supporting the chess team and bringing them to the event.
