We appreciate very much your support today re the water outage.
At 10 a.m. we got confirmation that we would not have sufficient flow until after
4 p.m.
While we have water-harvesting tanks under the basketball court and near the flags at the front entrance-….they were empty (due to little or no rainfall in September).
The other consideration is that if the tanks are fully drained, (we realised this 2 years ago) that all the toilets will suck in all the residual silt/dirt which is washed into the tanks and pumped up to the tanks on the roof- and all of the toilets break down.
I rang the the HSE who advised that if water had not been reconnected before the main lunch (toileting/hand-washing etc.)-that we should dismiss the pupils before 12:15. So we decided on 12 midday.
I am very encouraged by the many supportive comments and the positive/patient attitude of parents.
Almost everybody was understanding and supported the decision.
Don’t forget we need more parents to come forward to join the Parents’ Association-there is a meeting next week-and please come forward if you would like to make a contribution.
