Dear Parents and Staff,
I was notified by a helpful local resident this afternoon that there will be no water supply in our area tomorrow Tuesday 14th December. We’ve just confirmed this directly with Irish Water who said that water mains repair works are scheduled to take place from 7am until 7pm on 14 December, causing supply disruptions to Termonfeckin, Baltray, Queensborough, Newtownstalaban, Termon Abbey, Aston Village, Beaulieu Village, Drogheda and surrounding areas in Co. Louth.
Unfortunately we will have to keep the school closed tomorrow and I apologise for the inconvenience this causes for you and your families. Regrettably Irish Water didn’t notify the school of this planned water outage and we only found out about it by chance which is very unsatisfactory – I’ll be making representations to Irish Water about this lack of communication with its customers around planned interruptions to supply and hopefully we will be given advance notice in future.
I expect that school will reopen as normal on Wednesday 15th.
Thank you for your patience,
Principal Dermot
