Our Diversity Committee is made up of students, Heleasha, a member of the Travelling community, Zain from Pakistan, Davis from Latvia, Clare from Termonfeckin and Sharon from Nigeria, link teacher Dermot and Principal John, parents Cleopatra Raheem and Sharon Adams, BOM member Sharon Kieran, Adrian O’Sullivan, Louth County Council’s Social Inclusion Officer, Gareth Conlon of the Development Through Sport Programme, Anne Mc Quaile, Visiting Teacher for Travellers in Louth, and the driving force behind it all, Paula Madden from the Irish Traveller Movement. We have also invited Rosemarie Maughan, ITM Co-ordinator in Louth, to attend our May meeting.
The Diversity Committee has brought together a variety of stakeholders to oversee the progress of our Yellow Flag journey, to provide a forum for discussion and to create a vehicle for action. We are particularly proud of our student committee members who have taken on their respective roles with diligence and enthusiasm.
Our photograph shows the committee at work on our action plan.
We also include here sample minutes recording some of our Yellow Flag meetings.
