We hope to host a completely optional and ‘virtual’ hat parade this year. To take part, we are inviting students to create a hat as per previous years, using household rubbish. If you wish to acknowledge our STEM theme of “Living Things” in your hat creation, please do so but this is again, totally optional.
Having created your hat, please have your parents photograph your hat and email it to hatparade@astonvillageetns.com by 930am Friday, 3rd April. We previously stated 5pm on Thursday as the deadline, however we have extended that to allow more submissions and in recognition of the short notice. Please do not send hat parade photos via Seesaw.
Hat photos will then be compiled into a slide show which we will invite parents to attend on the Zoom app/platform at 11am on Friday morning, 3rd April. We will send invites via text/Aladdin messages at 10am that morning. The Zoom platform will permit students the opportunity to view their and their school friends’ hats on the slideshow, send messages to their friends (no audio) and see each other (should parents wish to allow that functionality).
In the meantime, you may wish to familiarise yourself with the zoom app, children can get started on their hat creations and below is a reminder of some of last year’s creations in case you need some inspiration! Hope to see you all (virtually) on Friday!
